Microsoft has opened up access to the beta of the latest version of Microsoft Office. Right now, you can download Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 in its entirety (beta version) for free. You’ll have access to the whole Office suite:

• Word
• OneNote
• InfoPath
• PowerPoint
• Acess
• SharePoint Workspace
• Outlook
• Publisher
• Communicator
• Excel

The download itself is a little bit under 700MB. We haven’t seen a specific date for when this free beta license will expire, but Microsoft betas of this sort tend to last about a year.

Google发布了自己的操作系统 Chrome OS。基本上就是一个强调了上网功能的小型linux。 感兴趣的朋友可以在这里下载

这个是Google做的宣传视频，蛮好玩儿的。把外行们唬的一愣一愣的，呵呵

安装指南：

• Unzip the ISO file to burn to a CD-ROM/DVD.
• Restart the computer (in the BIOS change boot sequence to DVD/CD rom).
• From there Google Chrome OS setup will be launched
  • Choose your language by pressing F2
  • Then Google launches the OS
• Click on Live Installer if you want to install desktop on your Hard Disk
  • The password is: root
  • Simply follow the instructions
• You must save the passwords for the following:
  • User password: user
  • Root password: root

Note that: Google Chrome does not work in Live CD mode, for time being, you must install on the hard disk.

Texas Instruments’ calculators use RSA digital signatures to authenticate any updates to their operating system. Unfortunately, their signing keys are too short: 512-bits. Earlier this month, acollaborative effort factored the moduli and published the private keys. Texas Instruments responded by threatening websites that published the keys with the DMCA, but it’s too late.

So far, we have the operating-system signing keys for the TI-92+, TI-73, TI-89, TI-83+/TI-83+ Silver Edition, Voyage 200, TI-89 Titanium, and the TI-84+/TI-84 Silver Edition, and the date-stamp signing key for the TI-73, Explorer, TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Silver Edition, TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Silver Edition, TI-89, TI-89 Titanium, TI-92 Plus, and the Voyage 200.

破解这个512-bit长的 RSA key， 破解者用BOINC（berkerley搞得分布式计算平台，同时执行着很多重要的大型计算任务，例如探寻外星人。。。）跑了一个礼拜。如此算来，用同等计算能力的BOINC破解目前普遍使用的1024-bit长的密钥需要：

2^512   -> 2^3 days

2^1024 –> 2^515 days = seems…not so practical…..

不过我相信，破解者还只是使用了BOINC里面很小的一部分计算能力。

计算资源（作为一种特殊的资源）很promising啊！！！
